Solutions
As your City Council member, my job is to listen when you speak and to improve your quality of life!
-
Childcare & Affordable Housing
Childcare and housing costs are a burden for local families. Here’s how we address it.
- Partnering with local school districts to expand childcare access and create local jobs by training childcare providers.
- Protecting long-time homeowners and seniors by expanding Northside Revivals style micro-grants, lowering permit fees, and encouraging small-footprint infill starter homes.
- By investing in our neighborhoods, we keep North Mankato welcoming and affordable for young families, workforce residents, and seniors alike.
-
Community-Based Co-Op Grocery Store
North Mankato working families spend too much time and money traveling to other cities for groceries. Our city deserves a Co-Op grocery store. Here’s why.
- Owned, run, and worked by our community. A Co-Op grocery store keeps local dollars circulating in our economy, creates local jobs, supports Minnesota farmers, and gives residents a direct say in our food system.
- As your city council member, I will work to streamline site selection, remove zoning hurdles, and support grassroots organizers to bring a community-owned co-op to North Mankato.
-
Local Infrastructure & Transparency
North Mankato families work hard every day, and having safe, well-lit streets and in our neighborhoods is a non-negotiable. As your City Council member my main job is getting the basics right with full transparency. This is how.
- Fixing broken sidewalks, filling in missing paths, and upgrading neighborhood streetlights so every family and senior can get around safely.
- Upgrading municipal facilities with renewable and energy efficiency to save taxpayer dollars, and lower city operational costs.
- I will stand firm against resource-heavy data center proposals to protect our power, water, and taxpayers dollars from rising energy bills.
- Enforce a NO Secret Deals standard. By prohibiting administrative NDAs and saying NO to flock cameras and facial recognition tools.
